Happy Holidays

Hi everyone
I was missing for a few weeks but the reason for that was that I was not very well, and then I passed the flu on to my parents who then gave it back to me. We all needed to be better because this is a very special time of the year for all of us, especially me because it is my mini birthday as well as Christmas.
You ask mini, but what happened was that my birthday was getting lost in the Christmas celebration so my mummy decided to give me a big birthday in May when the weather is better and both of us celebrate our birthdays together. Of course, this means that I get to have a party with all my friends as well as my mummy.
Because it was a very cold day, I did not do very much but I wanted to go and share some food with the duckies who are very cold and very hungry at this time of the year, that is precisely what I ended up doing. So here are some pictures from my birthday; hope you like them.

Of course, after my mini birthday, came Christmas. I left some biscuits and some cognac for Father Christmas on Christmas eve and went to bed. On the Christmas morning, I wanted to come down quickly but my cruel parents kept me in bed for a long time.
When I came down, I went to check in the front room and guess what, Father Christmas had been the night before. He had left me all the presents I had asked for and not only eaten all the biscuits but also taken the bottle of cognac with him.
He left me a letter, saying how much he liked all the things I had done this year and that was why he was giving me all the presents. He also asked me to be good again so that next year, I can get all my presents as well.

Then I went to the other room and there were lot many more presents under the tree from my parents, my dadima and my masi and uncle Danny. I loved them all and I thank you all for all my lovely presents.

Fancy a look at some of my special toys? Here are some of the pictures:

Because it was a white Christmas, even though I was not well, I was allowed to go out and play in the snow for a short while. Here is what I made all on my own.

What I get up to in my free time

Hi my faithful followers
Here I am to tell you about my favourite things to do when I am free. Of course, my papa loves doing man things like building models and toys. Last week, my mummy was away for five days and I had loads of time to eat junk food and make models. How about this one? Do you know it really goes and can carry lots of cars as well.

But then my mummy loves cooking and I love working with her as well. I can cook quite a few things. How about my smiley face paratha? I love having it, especially with Kadi. I got all the herbs from the garden to make the face. If you fancy one, you can always come to my house and we can rustle one up for you as well. So would you like one?

I love you all; take care, stay warm and be good.

Halloween and Diwali

Hi my beloved readers

First of all, let me start by wishing you all the very best for Diwali and New Year. Be happy and run around a lot this year. I hope you get a lot of toys this year.

I have been busy and was waiting to tell you about all the things I did. First, the half term. There was a lot of rain and so I could not really go anywhere. But what I did do was, some craft projects. So I made an apple balloon.

Then I made a caterpillar.

And then I decided to let my imagination run wild and came up with this installation. My mummy laughed but I think it was very special. Don't know why she insisted that I put everything away; it destroyed my masterpiece and I was not very happy. But at least, I have the pictures for eternity.

Or how about this decoration I did on my car. I wanted to post this but mummy was not keen. I wonder why.

And now on to Halloween. This was my first time to go trick or treat. Also I went to see the Pumpkin World near my house where I chose the biggest pumpkin to bring back. My papa made me carry it but I just dropped it. Papa can be cruel sometimes and then he laughed as well. Want to see my pumpkin? Here it is.

And here it is, outside to spook everyone. Doesn't it look scary? I gave all the ideas for the design so that papa could carve it.

On the subject of pumpkin, well, don't buy the biggest pumpkin you see on display. I did and now I have had various soups, curries, rice dishes; pumpkin boiled, roasted, fried, curried and do you know what, there is still so much in the fridge and the freezer, I wonder what else would be unleashed on me.

Want to see my true face? Here I am.

Aren't I gorgeous? Mummy always calls me that.

But now to the real star of the post. DIWALI!!! I thought Diwali was wonderful but for some reason, my papa does not like it and my mummy was running around, being totally silly. She just made me and papa do piles and piles of work; she would not let me play after school in the adventure playground; she made me cook piles of food.

I was anxiously waiting for Ganesh ji and his mummy and when I came back from school on Friday, He was there, hiding under a red scarf with his mummy. I was so so so happy on seeing him. We then did lots more cooking and then we went to do our Diwali Pooja. We bathed Ganesh ji and his mummy and then we gave them roses and rice and tikka and drink and food. I think Ganesh ji liked it. My mummy asked what sweet would Ganeshji like because I am his friend and I know about these things a lot. So I told her she had to make laddoos. Those are the yellow sweet balls that he loves. And then she asked me if we should make Gulab jamun or Jalebi. Of course, I said both because you never know what Ma Lakshmi would prefer, so my mummy did end up making both.

Here is a close up of my friend Ganesh ji. Doesn't he look gorgeous after his bath with milk, yoghurt, honey, ghee and water?

And then we could not decide which lamp to light, so guess what we did; we did both.

And then we did something I really, truly enjoyed and it was fireworks. Here are some you might want to see.

Some of the fireworks flew in the sky so there is no picture but you can see how high they went because there I am, tracking their progress. Thank God it did not rain today because yesterday we could not do many because there was so much water coming down. We could not even light the candles properly outside.

On that subject, my little brother and sister also enjoyed their Diwali in India and they looked gorgeous too. What do you think?

And I must show off my little sister posing. We absolutely adore her and she is our little princess.

Wonder what she is thinking about but in the picture below, there is, beaming. I wish you all the same happiness today and all this year.

Have loads of fun and come back soon.

As promised here I am

Hi all
As I said earlier today I'll be back and here I am. I went with my papa to the Pumpkin World. It was much smaller than last year but really nice and scary. Since my camera did not work because there is no flash, I can't bring you the juicy scary pictures but I bought some eggs and they came in a big blue tray and that gave me something to do.

So here I am, with my special caterpillar which I took all afternoon to do. My mummy says I should thank Papa for helping me with the project but I did do all the work. Hope you like it. Please let me know what you think.

As soon as I do something exciting, I will be back or even otherwise. See you soon; meanwhile be good.

Awaiting all the big things

Hi everyone

Just to tell you I have half term holidays and so I get up late and have a late breakfast. Because it rained and rained, I could not do very much but today I am going to the Pumpkin World because it is Halloween very soon. I will post some pictures as well and wait till I do my Halloween scary persona.

There is so much to look forward to; there is Halloween, then there is Guy Fawkes day but more importantly, we also have Diwali on the same day. So I will have lots and lots and lots of fireworks. I will eat lots of sweeties and other goodies and Ganesha will come to our house with his Mummy.

I am planning to give some Diwali gifts to all my classmates as well so I need to go and think about it. So see you very soon with all these exciting bits.

Love to all and be good.

My long pause

Hi all
Sorry I have not been doing much but then I am so busy. For a boy of five (nearly six), there is school, there are games, there are toys, there are parties to go to. There are pushy parents asking you to read and do spelling tests, there is food to cook, walks to take, showers and baths to take, clothes to change. How much can I do in a day? But no worries, here I am, to give you my latest news.
I am on the verge of being promoted in my taekwondo class. I would be starting my intermediate class in December and have to pass my test in November so I am practising very hard.
I also have to do my tests every week and they are a bit of a hit or miss. Sometimes I am there all the way and get all of them right but sometimes, your mind has to be out of the class (surely you know what I mean) and then I don't do quite so well but mummy has promised me something special anyway.
I have half term starting on Thursday and so will have more time next week to chat and tell you more and also share some photos.
Till then, be good and do your tests properly with the mind in the class. Are you sure you will do that, my lovely audience?

Ganesha came to see us if only for a short while

Hi my lovely readers
Hope you are all happy and well. I have not been active on the blog because I have gone back to school and come back very late and tired. Then I have to cook the dinner with mummy, watch TV for both of them and go to all the beds in rotation. So what is a boy to do?
But then in between all this, Ganesh ji came to our house on Tuesday with his mummy. We made sweets for him and I gave him a bath and then prayed as well.

Yesterday I walked to the river so that Ganesh ji and his mummy could go back to their house. Since he lives far far away, we packed fruit and sweets for him to eat on the way.
When he was swimming away to go to his house, I got very upset because I did not really want him to go, so I got very upset and cried a lot. But then my mummy told me that He would definitely come back next year. Next year, I am keeping him for five weeks at least and I have told my mummy that well.
Of course, his mummy is coming to see us for Diwali and then Ganesh ji will also come so I can see him.
But the big surprise was when I came back home, my Ganesh ji who lives outside my house, was still there and He smiled at me.
So may Ganesh ji bless you all. Have fun and I will come back soon. Meanwhile, be good.

Nolwenn and Morgane come visiting

Hi all

My holidays are disappearing very quickly and I have not done anything much yet. I have not gone to half the places I want to go to so what is a young boy to do?

But then yesterday, I was in for a surprise. When my mummy told me some visitors were coming I was not sure at all but once they came, I was very happy because they were two lovely girls and the younger one whose name was Morgane, was very nice to me and played with me all afternoon. We played in the garden, on the riverside, in my room, everywhere. We sang silly songs, we laughed and we enjoyed ourselves. Did I say we did yoga together. Here we are, making sure we are in touch with the universe or more likely with the murky water in the little pond.

The only two things that went wrong were that poor Morgane had hurt her foot because she is a girl and she was wearing girly boots and then I got very tired and got a bit upset. OK, this was not much better either; I know she is older than me but a guy has to have his dignity. I should be lifting her and not the other way.

But the weather was superb and my day was even better. Here we are at the riverside where we had a huge audience while Morgane and I were performing our dance and song routine, oh ok, feeding the audience.

While we did our things, Nolwenn and her mummy Christine stood and helped us as well as watched to make sure that we did not fall in the river. There were many doggies swimming with the ducks and swans and my mummy thought we might be joining them as well.

I would also like to tell you my mummy was very mean with the bread; she only took a little bit so all the ducks and swans who came to eat, did not get much food. Mummy said she had just baked the honey and walnut bread so she was not going to feed it all to the creatures of the river. I say it is good to share. But she did not agree. Here are all the visitors feeding the duckies.

Did I mention that Nolwenn is very good at doing gymnastics. Look what she did at the riverside.

So thankyou very much Nolwenn, Christine and specially Morgane who was one of my best playmates. I would also like to mention their Papa, Michel who came to pick them up but I was busy playing so could not spend much time with him.

We would love to see all of you again soon. Have a lovely time back at school.
